Your tastings stay with you

The wines you log, your reactions and your notes are stored on your phone and in your own backup: iCloud on iPhone, or on Android a private Google Drive folder only Tanno can see, once you turn it on. They are never sent to our servers.

What our servers hold

No account, and nothing about who you are. Each install gets an anonymous token, checked with Apple's App Attest on iPhone and Google Play Integrity on Android, so only the real app can use the wine lookup. Your IP address is used briefly when a token is issued, to limit abuse.

Looking up a wine

When you look up a wine, the name, winery and vintage are sent to our server, which finds the wine in a shared wine catalog, through wine data providers, or on the web. The answer is kept so the next lookup of that wine is instant. Nothing about you goes with it.

Barcodes are looked up in a shared wine cache and in public product databases. Only the barcode is sent.

Photos you take

A photo of a label or a wine list is sent to our server and read by Claude, Anthropic's AI, to find the wines on it. We don't keep the photo.

When you save a bottle you scanned, a numeric fingerprint of the photo, not the photo, joins a shared image index, so the next scan of that bottle is matched instantly.

Sharing a wine

A share link keeps that wine's details on our server so the link works. Nothing about you or your tastings.

Starting over

Settings → Delete my data wipes your tastings from your phone and your iCloud or Google Drive copy, and removes your install's token from our servers.
